For Members Only Dear Diary
So, I’m in the midst of holiday shopping today. I had a large-sized cheddar and caramel popcorn and then a chocolate glazed Dunkin donut. Ugh! I have trained long enough to know that not only are flour and dairy not my friends -- they are basically my body’s enemies. So, even when I have and enjoy them in the moment, I am never really happy that they are in my body! Ugh!
Seems small, but it’s a reality of mine, and so here I am in the gym following through on the commitment that excites me and makes me proud of myself for showing up for me despite the nonstop demands of life. How do you show up for you? What makes you feel proud of yourself? Do more of that and accept grace. I am so grateful I took time to celebrate all the foods that I consciously chose NOT to have while shopping today! Should I list a few?
The free hibachi samples in the mall, shrimp fried rice, Auntie Annie’s bites with no salt, original glazed Krispy Element donuts, and sometimes the mall visit meant pizza or wings! Again, I typically never visited a mall without one of these, so today I celebrate new choices – I have better discipline, but it’s still not perfect.
