Let The Healing Continue

Dr. LaTrice Williams

In light of the recent events impacting our nation, what advice would you give to people in order to help them navigate the uncertainty?

Now is a time to solidify and recommit in relationship and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no cookie cutter answer to navigating uncertainty. Uncertain times or circumstances, much like we are living in now, manifest its effects differently in each of us. It is important to be honest with yourself, with those who support and love you and with God about how you are feeling. Acknowledge what you feel, but know that you do not have to be overwhelmed or consumed by it. It is also important to look ahead. We have to look beyond where we are now in prayer in anticipation of what is to come and then begin to work toward what we see. During times of uncertainty, it's a time to be intentional, truthful and open to God's direction to navigate your personal uncertainties. Lastly, do not fall prey to comparison. Each person navigates differently. What works for them, may not be the method God will use to help you navigate these times.

Please share one or two available resources that can help people right now.

My first suggestion is your personal safe places. These are the people that you can confide in without fearing judgment. These people are God resources to your life. It's crucial that we tap into the Kingdom currency of relationships. Make time to share, to talk, to pour out and to receive. Sometimes a simple conversation can help to shift your mindset and the atmosphere of your life causing you to see beyond what you see.

My second suggestion is to NOT be prideful. Reach out to community partners for the assistance you may need. It may be food resources, therapeutic services, or financial assistance. We are in a season that an abundance of uncommon resources are being released. Seek out and tap into those resources. Seek relief in areas that seem overwhelming for you. For example - your finance companies for vehicle and home loans. There are relief efforts in place but they will require us to release our pride; make the calls; ask the questions, and receive the help.

What is your personal mission in life?

My personal mission is to push people to pursue destiny! I am The Destiny Driver. I'm sent to equip, train, build, nurture and cultivate the gifts of those assigned to me directly and indirectly. My mission includes Kingdom impact and influence that will propel people to successfully fulfill their God purpose. It is ultimately for the glory of God and also to manifest their gifts, callings, and God given Destiny in the earth to become solutions, answers and transformers for those they are assigned to. My mission is that no person I encounter will miss God or their destiny in Him. Through teaching, preaching, training and mentoring, I live out my God given personal mission in life.

What is one of the biggest challenges you have overcome?

Myself! I had to get over LaTrice. What I was and what I wasn't. What I was told I was and what was said that I wouldn't be. I had to get beyond what was done to me, who did it and the lies they told about why. The negative self image that was deposited in me by people's behaviors and words, through abandonment, rape and molestation had to be destroyed in me. What was done to me had taken me far from what God created me to be. So, I had to get over me. Get out of my feelings and get real.

What was one action that helped you overcome this challenge?

I finally realized that I was not what they did to me. Period. I became intentional about my thoughts and I finally surrendered completely to God and accepted who I am in Him. Embracing that prayer and knowing God personally has forever changed me. It took time, being intentional and staying focused on God.

 How do you define leadership?

(This is my short answer) Leadership is the ability to coach, empower, encourage, push, correct, train and equip people to be the best and most successful version of themselves. It is NOT creating mini-me's or carbon copies of yourself. Leadership pulls out both the best and the worst in people and actively teaches them to navigate both in their lives. It is also the ability to take people as far as you can take them, give them everything you're assigned to give and gracefully push them into their next level, dimension, place and purpose. Leadership is personal! It's passionate! It's purposeful! And it should always push people to pursue destiny and legacy.

What advice would you give to someone that is ashamed to share their story?

Sharing your story creates a level of freedom the enemy does not want you to experience. Whatever your story, there is someone who can relate and someone who can benefit. The shame is not in sharing your story, regardless of how gory it may have been. Your story may be the answer to someone else's dilemma. Your story may be the story that breaks a yoke off of someone else's life. You lived through it so someone else wouldn't have to die in it. Release the shame to God and set yourself free!

How can people reach you?
